Although making the trip in separate boats, 60 Harvard Glee Clubbers will join with 80 members of the Radcliffe Choral Society for a concert in New York's Town Hall on Sunday, March 29.
This is the first time that the Glee Club and the Choral Society have ever joined forces further away than Andover, and the first time in ever five years that the Glee Club has made a trip during the Spring Vacation. The Choral Society will return to Cambridge after the New York concert, leaving the Glee Club to continue its tour.
From New York, the Club travels to the Philadelphia Forum to take part in a lecture concert with Olin Downes, duplicating a similar performance given in Brooklyn last year. Downes, who is the music critic for the New York Times, will lecture on the history and development of Choral Music while the Glee Club illustrates by rendering chosen selections.
First concert of the year will be at the opening Tercentenary Celebration at Sanders Theatre on Friday, November s. A joint concert with the Yale Glee Club is scheduled in sanders Theatre on the Friday before the game.
