UNIVERSITY HANDICAP MEET TO BE RUN FRIDAY

DECOSTER, OTEILI, WORTH, WHITE AND WALKER START

In the annual handicap open to all members of the University, Harvard's harriers and runners of all descriptions go out over their four and one-half mile course Friday.

Five men will toe the starting mark at scratch: Cyrus C. DeCoster '37, John R. O'Neill '36, Eugene H. Walker '37, Le Moynbe White '36, and Charles C. Worth '37.

With the race shifted from the end to the middle of the season, Coach Mikkola has decided to scratch his six star expressmen in order to give them a week's practice without the training break necessary for a race.

In the meet last year, held after the HYP race, most of the Varsity competed but none showed up well due to excessive handicapping.

On the occasion Bob Playfair smashed the course record to finish twelfth, while a Freshman with a five and one half minute head start loped home first.

Yowardo Princeton

In-preparation for the Princeton meet on Monday, November 11, once a week Captain Playfair leads his Varsity pack over the hilly bridle paths of the Brookline country Club.

In past years the Crimson harriers, trained only on the level banks of the Charles, have found the rough footing and unusual conditions of the Nassan course a serious disadvantage.
