Let there be no "New Deal" in political parties, the Freshman Union Society decided at its second informal debate held last evening. The resolution: "Resolved. That the American political party system should be reorganized to form two major parties, liberal and conservative," was voted down by a 12-7 vote.

Chief speaker for the affirmative was Donald B. Leiffer '32, assistant in Government, arguing that labor and capital, or liberal and conservative, parties are necessary for democracy, he was refuted by John A. Moore '38 and Isadore Kline '38, speakers for the negative. As arguments the latter brought forward the host of mechanical difficulties attendant on party reorganization.
