Chemistry 2a is an introductory course in organic chemistry. Do not let this frighten you away. For those timid and unassuming souls who shy from all things new and unexperienced, this organic stuff means only that the course has limited itself to the study of carbon and its compounds. True, there are more than a few compounds in this field. That too, should not frighten you for Professor Fieser does a splendid job of "essential plucking."
Note-taking is more of a physical than a mental duty. A-students are a quarter of a board behind; B's half; C's three-quarters; and no one seems to know just where the rest are.
Laboratory is rather above the general run. Fortunately the time schedule is not too strict to hinder considerable work being done is the morning. The lab work under Dr. Fisher has much rhyme and reason.
Bi-weekly quizzes help to digest a mountain of material which at times seems to be coming too fast. It is not a good idea to take Chem 2a and Physics B together, since both have biweekly quizzes which have a disgusting faculty of coming on the same day.
Following inorganic chemistry and usually followed by physical chemistry, Chem. 2a is an oasis in the somewhat avid desert of chemistry
