Mrs. Clough, Leverett House's head waitress, has her troubles. During the recent heat wave she discovered to her horror that one of the House members had slipped into the dining room without a neektie and without a coat. After about fifteen minutes' consideration, she edged up to the table where he was sitting and left this note beside his plate:
"Mr.--:
The Senior Tutor, Mr. Evans, has requested that no gentleman enter the dining room unless he is wearing a coat."
Not at all disturbed by this, Mr.--finished eating and then left. We suppose you have already guessed that his friends who were left at the table then signed our here's name to this note:
"Mrs. Clough:
I am no gentleman."
They did.
