Freshman Swimmers Travel To New Haven for Final Till

Outcome May Hinge on Relay Is Opinion Of Coach Muir

Hoping to maintain their record of only one defeat, the Freshman Swimmers will meet the Yale cubs in the latter's pool this evening. As both teams have a long series of victories to their credit, a very close and hard-fought battle may be expected.

According to Coach Muir, the score of the meet will depend upon the outcome of the really event. The fastest time of the Eli relay men is three minutes and 53 seconds, while the best time yet turned in by Crimson is two seconds in excess of the Yale record. Rogers and Cooke for the Yale quartet consistently swim their lap of the relay in 55 seconds. The other two members of the team, Christner and Willcox, are minute men. Since the Crimson relay swimmers average about the same speed, it is exceedingly difficult to make any prophecy as to the outcome of the event.

In the free style events, Yale is conceded a decided advantage over Harvard. A. Gregory James on '37 will be hard pressed in the 200 yard swim by Cooke of the Blue aggregation. The Harvard mermen are expected to redeem themselves however, in the dive, the breast stroke, and the backstroke. Carl L. Goulland '37 is slated to take the honors in the 150 yard backstroke, George A. Pedge '37 will, as usual, constitute a serious threat to his opponent in the dive.
