Wrestlers Fail To Place in N. E. Intercollegiate Bouts

Aranson Only Harvard Man in Finals Of Meet at Springfield

Crippled by the loss of three valuable men, the Harvard Jayvee wrestlers trailed far behind in the race for the New England Intercollegiate Championship. The title was won finally by the Springfield grapplers with a margin of 29 to 28 points over Tufts College.

Four out of the five Harvard entries were eliminated in the earlier bouts by Brown and Springfield, and the only Crimson man who survived the preliminaries was Albert Aranson '35 who won his first match by decision over Powers of Springfield.

135-pound class: Zoolamean of Brown won by decision over John L. Angel '36.

145-pound class: Clark of Springfield won over Edwin C. Hazeltine '36 by fall. Time, 1 min., 52 sec.

155-pound class: Staniels of Brown won over Hayden Estey '36. Time, 3 min., 59 sec.

175-pound class: Albert Aranson '36 won by decision over Powers of Springfield.

Unlimited class: L'Hommedieu of Springfield won by decision over Edward F. Sullivan '36.

Freshmen Also Lag

In the freshman division, the New England Championship was won by the Eli grapplers with a wide lead over all competitors, the Harvard contingent finishing far down the list.
