Hollis Hall and Holden Chapel, both of which have stood in the Yard for over 150 years, are being used by the Historical American Buildings Survey Commission as two of the finest examples of early Colonial architecture in Massachusetts. These buildings were chosen because the committee considered them the best-looking and most interesting structures in the University.
During the survey, which has been carried on during the past few months, the buildings were carefully measured, and historical notes were taken. The records will be deposited permanently at the Congressional Library in Washington. Samuel E. Morison '08, professor of History, assisted in the investigations.
