Sixteen seniors, elected to membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society in November, were awarded keys by President Conant last night at the annual meeting of the Society, which was held at 6.45 o'clock in Dunster House. The meeting at which Langdon P. Marvin '98, presided, was attended by graduate members, professors, and immediate members of the Society.
The 16 seniors who received keys last night were: Cesar L. Barber, Robert O. Carleton, Charles E. Carr, Charles R. Cherington, Aaron A. Cohen, Harold S. Cone, William F. Ebling, Maurice Franks, Charles F. Haas, Robert P. Heller, John J. Hession, Thomas H. Hunter, Reed E. Peggram, Leo Rosenfield, Richard S. Salant, and Robert D. Sard.
Among the speakers at a dinner which followed the meeting were Oliver M. W. Sprague '94, professor of Banking and Finance; Joseph A. Schumpeter, professor of Economics, and Jerome D. Greene, secretary to the Corporation. George L. Haskins '35, discussed the Phi Beta Kappa prize essay by Wilfred Owen '34 and spoke on Harvard as a negative force in education.
