PACIFIST HOOEY

Birmingham, Ala., Dec. 12-The next war will be less destructive and will be waged at a smaller cost than the World War, according to Lieut.-Col. William N. Porter, chemical warfare instructor at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala., army aviation school.

Colonel Porter, here to address a luncheon club meeting, scoffed at predictions that the next war will take an incalculable toll of lives.

"That," said the instructor, "is just so much hooey spread by the pacifists.

"The next major war, if there is one, will be far less destructive than the World War. It will be waged at a lower cost, primarily because chemicals, which are cheaper than the traditional type of ammunition, will be the principal weapons."
