THROUGH THE YEARS

Nov. 9. 1909

President Emeritus Eliot will leave Cambridge today for a short trip to Philadelphia where he will speak this evening at a meeting of the Contemporary Club on "Adverse Tendencies in University Life."

The first football mass meeting of the year held in the Living Room of the Union last evening was attended by a crowd which filled the room, the halls, and the gallery. A short cheer was tried and met with universal approval. It is intended for members of the team substituted or taken out of the game. Of the new songs tried, "Harvardians" was the most enthusiastically received.
