The first of the Harvard Memorial Society's dinners, a project which it is hoped may be made an annual custom, will be held tonight at 6.30 o'clock in the Adams House Upper Common Room. Among the speakers will be Roger B. Merriman '96, Gurney Professor of History and Political Science, and Joseph H. Beale, '82, Royall Professor of Law. The toastmaster will be Samuel E. Morison '08, professor of History, and authority on the history of the University. Jerome D. Greene '96, Secretary of the Corporation, and Director of the Tercentenary celebration, and Edward K. Rand '94, Pope Professor of Latin will be the guests of honor.

Hopes are entertained that the long awaited plaque of President Eliot will make its appearance at the banquet. It is planned to place this memorial in his old room in Holworthy Hall, and the completion of this task will mark the first finished project of the recently revived Society.
