SOCCER MEN DOWN ARMY 2-1 IN VERY SLOW GAME

Captain Stork Makes Both Goals for Lethargic Crimson; Freshmen Defeat Worcester 3-1

The Varsity soccer team, despite its continued lethargic and seemingly careless play, downed the West Point booters 2-1, before a large pre-football crowd on Saturday morning. Three elements contributed entirely, or in large part, to the Harvard victory;--the nimble foot of Captain Fred Stork, who gave his team a temporary two goal advantage with his penalty shot in the third and his drive from scrimmage in the fourth period; the able goal-tending of Jonathan England; and the wildness of the Cadets, who were unable to capitalize on any of their numerous scoring threats until just after the second Crimson tally, when Boys, inside forward, kicked the ball under the home team bar. Freshmen Win

Leading all the way, the Freshman soccermen defeated a mediocre Worcester Academy team on the Academy field Saturday afternoon, by a 3-1 count. The important goals were scored for the yearlings by Davis and Grandin, inside forwards.
