Oct. 10--President Roosevelt believes prices must be tilted higher before they are stabilized but he is determined that wages keep abreast with the increased cost of living, it was said today.
Run-away price increases will be fought vigorously by the administration. The President recognizes that there will be a variance between real wages and living costs as prices reach higher levels.
Ultimately and before stabilization, however, he feels that the worker's pay envelope must be fattened to meet the higher prices toward which the Administration is working.
