100 Musicians Expected To Attend First Band Practice

23 Candidates Tentatively Accepted In Tryouts Yesterday

Twenty-three men who tried out for the Harvard University band have been tentatively accepted by Leroy Anderson, 5G, bandmaster, and G. Vernon Slade '32, drillmaster. More are expected to report for an audition this afternoon, and 100 men are expected to report for first practice this evening. Consequently, the band will be approximately the same size as last year. Tomorrow afternoon, the drummers will report for first marching practice at Soldiers Field.

William B. Tabler '36, last year's high-stepping drum major will continue to twirl the baton this fall.
