Winthrop led the combination crew, composed mostly of Leverett House men, by barely a length, while Dunster was two lengths behind and Eliot four and a half lengths. The winning time was 10 minutes, 15 seconds. The Winthrop House winners were: str., R. D. Wells '33; 7, H. B. Garrigues '34; 6, E. A. Kratovil '35; 5, J. W. Carman '34; 4, J. B. Walker '33, 3, A. C. England '33; 2, E. C. Carman '35; bow, E. W. Fox '35; cox, R. L. Henderson '35.
Because of a strong wind, considerable difficulty was experienced at the start of the race. Eliot rammed the combination crew, forcing it into shore. On the second start, the combination crew was given a lead of two lengths, a lead which would have been kept except for the zigzag course pursued.
