Lowell House dining hall has been transformed to an uncharted shipwreck isle and will be the setting for the "Shipwreck Ball" which opens at 9.30 o'clock tonight. The committee has arranged for Larry Funk and his "Band of a Thousand Melodies" from the New York Palais d'Or to play for the dancing, while a girl who has been a member of several Broadway shows will sing with the band and help to make the shipwreck life more cheerful.
It is rumored that grass skirts will be seen in great numbers, while the members and guests favor the attire of Barnacle Bill, the sailor. Tickets will be on sale at the tower for those who have not purchased them before hand. The price for couples will be reduced one-half at 1 o'clock, according to the committee that consists of D. S. Carmichael '35, J. deB. Bertolet '35, R. W. Skinner '34, and J. R. Fetcher '33.
Mrs. J. L. Coolidge, Mrs. George Morgan, Mrs. Benjamin Jones, Mrs. James Munn, Mrs. Dorothy Fry, and Mrs. W. Y. Elliott have been kind enough to serve as patronesses for the occasion. The price of tickets is $3 and $1.75.
