Christmas Seals Sent Out to Six Thousand Harvard Men

Students Account For One-Quarter of C.T.H.A. Receipts Usually

Opening its twenty-seventh annual drive for the sale of Christmas seals, the Cambridge Tuberculosis and Health Association mailed 6,185 sheets of stamps to Harvard students last Friday. The proceeds of the sale will be used for continuing the campaign against tuberculosis, the prevention of heart disease, and for furnishing a preventorium to care for children.

Harvard accounted for 26 per cent of the total receipts from Cambridge last year. The University's greatest response was in 1930, when almost $2,500 was received, composing 29 per cent of the Cambridge contributions. The receipts from Harvard in 1931 and 1932 were $2171 and $1975, respectively, representing about 27 per cent of the total.

Since 1925, these stamps have been sent to all members of the University, with the exception of the students of the Dental and Medical schools. Last year, 30 per cent of the students bought the whole sheet of seals, and a total of almost $2,000 was received from them. The sheets were returned complete by 38 per cent.
