On the basis of their performance last year during the indoor polo season, and their summer's record, ten men of the polo squad have been given handicaps by the committee appointed by the Commonwealth Polo Club.
This committee, of which Lt. Charles D. Palmer, coach of the polo squad, and Forester Clark '29, are members, has also arranged the season's games for indoor play insofar as was possible, the consideration of the teams which will be unable to play during the Christmas holidays and the players who will be late in getting up their horses having made a definite schedule impossible at this time. They have scheduled the first Varsity game for December 16, at which time the team will play the Candlewood riders, captained by Albert Burrage. One of the Junior Varsity teams will play the same night. Freshman games, however, will not be played until after January 1.
The handicapped men and the number of their goal handicaps follows. D. Davis, captain of the Varsity team, 4; Dillingham, 44; W. C. McGuckin, -2; F. E. Johnson, -2; E. H. Gerry, -2; J. E. Davis, -2, P. Jay, H. A. Gerry, S. E. Prentice, and P. F. Fox all have one goal handicaps.
Twenty new box stalls are being built in the Armory to accommodate the horses of the Undergraduate Polo Association. Under the direction of Peter Junkin '36, Blue Jay manager, the work is being rushed in the desire to complete it in two weeks when the college ponies go into indoor use.
