CRIMSON PLAYGOER

BOARDS AND BILLBOARDS

The Stage

Colonial--"Alice in Wonderland." Eva LeGallienne as actress-director, and Josephine Hutchinson as Alice head a good cast in a perfectly delightful production of Lewis Carrol's classic.

Plymouth--"The Late Mr. Christopher Bean." Pauline Lord and a polished cast bring a 1932 New York comedy hit to Boston. Good clean entertainment. Last week.

Wilbur--"The Woman of Bronze." Gladys George saves a serious play about a temperamental artist from being ridiculous.

The Movies

University--"One Man's Journey." Lionel Barrymore capable but not himself in a near-epic of rural life. "Three-Cornered Moon." Unimportant but amusing whimsy.

Metropolitan--"Footlight Parade." James Cagney, Ruby Keeler, Dick Powell, and Joan Blondell in a repitition of "Forty-Second Street."

Loew's State--"Broadway Through a Keyhole." Walter Winchell's opus. Better than average.
