Displays Selection of Books Published By Pynson Printers

This week Lowell House is exhibiting as its last exhibition of the year, a selection of books produced by the Pynson Printers under the direction of Mr. Elmer Adler.

The volumes represent some of the most outstanding books produced in this country, and are noteworthy for their excellence of typography, and their fine presswork. "The Colophon, A Book Collectors Quarterly," in which each article is printed by a different printer, is one of the most interesting volumes shown. There are also several Rockwell items including: his "Book Plates," lithographs for a gorgeous edition of "Beowulf," and his classic edition of Voltaire's "Candide." A fine edition of Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" with illustrations by Donald McKay is also shown.
