DEMOCRATS ENCOURAGE ABSENTEE VOTING HERE

Drive To Have University Democratic Supporters Familiarize Themselves With Laws Started by Sullivan

In order to encourage absentee voting by Democratic supporters in the University, the Harvard Democratic Club has begun a drive to enlist voters who have residence outside of Massachusetts to register during the summer in their home states, it was announced last night by D. M. Sullivan '33, president of the Harvard Democratic Club. Certain states do not permit absentee voting, but the majority of them do, provided that the voter registers in time and complies with local laws.

G. W. Harrington 2L, Chairman of the Committee on Absentee Voting for the Democratic Club recently spent several days in Washington looking up the law on absentee voting, and prepared a report which has been published for use in the East by the Young Democratic Clubs of America. Harrington has distributed copies of the report in the following Cambridge business houses where they may be obtained: James W. Brine's Sporting Goods Store, Billings and Stover, and Arthur's Restaurant.

Complete information may be secured at National Headquarters, 911 Bankers Realty Building, Raleigh, North Carolina, or from the Young Democratic Club.
