James Heidell '35 and W. H. Lewis, Jr. '35, were the outstanding entrants in an intramural Freshman swimming meet held yesterday, each taking a first and second place. No members of the Freshman team were allowed to enter, and most of the competitors, who number 39 in all, were members of the advanced swimming courses that have been given during the winter.

For inexperienced men, most of the swimmers showed up exceptionally well. In the 50-yard frees style event, Lewis finished only a few feet ahead of his nearest opponent, turning in the fast time of 29 seconds. The 75-yard medley swim was even more evenly contested, Heidell downing Gardner Taft '35 by about two inches. W. Van A. Bailey '35 made a good showing in the breast stroke, leading the field by almost five yards.
