Plan To Keep Organization in Action During the Summer Months

At the Legal Aid Bureau meeting held yesterday afternoon at the Phillips Brooks House, the following officers for the coming year were elected: President, Francis Joseph Currie 2L, of East Orange, New Jersey; Vice-President, Alwin John Rockwell 2L, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Secretary, Earl Franklin Morris 2L, of Springfield, Ohio, and Treasurer, Julius Rosenberg 2L, of New York, New York.

These men will take up the work of the Bureau conducted this year by President H. B. Ely, Vice-President A. I. Schmalholz, Secretary H. B. Johnson, and Treasurer H. I. Cammer.

The new officers are all members of the second year class of the Law School, who have been associated with the work of the Legal Aid Bureau during the past year. Currie received his undergraduate training at Holy Cross College, graduating in 1928. Rockwell is a graduate of De Pauw University of the class of 1929. Morris received his degree from Wittenberg College in 1930, and Rosenberg is an alumnus of the College of the City of New York of the class of 1930.

A decision was made at the meeting to keep the Central Square Office of the Bureau open during April and May, and also to keep a skeleton organization under the supervision of the present members at work during the summer months. This is an innovation in the work of the Bureau and should considerably increase the assistance it is able to render to the needy people of Cambridge. The exact plan of the summer organization is still tentative, but will be confirmed and announced in the near future.
