A selected group of sculpture, brouses, and medals from the famous collection of the late Gustave Dreyfus of Paris will be exhibited at the Fogg Museum next week.
This was the most important of the great Renaissance collections in private hands, and probably the last. As it is now to be dispersed, this will be a unique opportunity to see a group of masterpieces of these arts, such as cannot be found together in any American collection or museum. Among the sculpture are most important bas-relief and basis of Desliterio, Mino, Della Robbia; a superb St. John by Donatello and no less than three works by Verocchia. Of medals are many by Pisanelle, the greatest of all medallists.
The charm and remarkable interest of these arts lie in their intimate aspect of some of the greatest masters, their portraits of Renaissance men and we men, and their revelation of the Renaissance spirit. The Exhibition will last from Monday to Saturday only.
