FIVE HARVARD FENCERS GAIN WINS IN OLYMPIC TRYOUTS

Swordsmen Enter Finals-1935 Team Beats Boston English High School

Five Harvard men emerged successful in the preliminary round of the trials for the American Olympic falls team, last night. The bouts at M. I. T. resulted in victories for Gilbert Kerlin '33, member of the Crimson fencing team, Henry Wesselman 11, captain of last year's University squad: J. H. Hurd '34, G. M. Yalesevitch '33 and E. M. Lane '24. They will compete in the finals tonight.

In their firs match of the season the Freshman follsmen defeated Boston English High at the Indoor Athletic Building yesterday, 6-3. The summary:

R. C. Ackerman '35 defeated Russa (BEB), 5-2; B. S. Miller '35 defeated Steele (BEB), 5-4; B. G. Banan '35 defeated Toorks (BEB), 5-3; B. S. Miller '35 defeated Russo (BEB), 5-3; Steele (BEB) defeated H. G. Banan '35, defeated Banan '35, 5-3; Toorks (BEB), defeated R. S. Ackerman '35, 5-4; H. G. Banan '35 defeated Russo (BEB), 5-2; Steele (BEB), defeated L. T. Rolden '35, 5-4; Rugh Parkhunt '35 defeated Toorks (BEB), 5-1.
