List of Patrons and Patronesses For Ball at Somerset Announced

In the Louis XIV Room of the Hotel Somerset on Thursday evening, December 15, from 9 until 2 o'clock, the embryonic barristers from the other side of Memorial Hall will make merry in the most important function of the year in the Law School calendar, the first Winter Ball.

Dean and Mrs. Roscoe Pound, head the list of patrons and patronesses which contains many of the professors and their wives. This is the first time in the history of the Law School that an extra-curricular activity such as a dance has been sanctioned and approved by the Law School Faculty.

Among the many prominent alumni of the school who have been invited are, J. L. Burns, recently appointed to the Massachusetts Superior Court by Governor Ely, and Elijah Adlow of the Boston Municipal Court. Governor and Mrs. Ely have also been invited.

Jacques Marlowe will furnish music with his Newport Casino Orchestra; and at present extensive arrangements are being carried through to have radio stars provide the entertainment.

Patrons and patronesses attending the dance include: Professor and Mrs. R. J. Baker, Professor and Mrs. E. M. Dodd, Professor and Mrs. Sheldon Glueck, Professor and Mrs. Livingston Hall, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Holiday, Professor and Mrs. M. O. Hudson, Professor and Mrs. J. M. Landis, Professor and Mrs. W. N. Leach, Professor and Mrs. Calvert Magruder, Professor and Mrs. W. A. Seavey, Professor and Mrs. S. P. Simpson, Professor and Mrs. J. B. Thayer, Professor and Mrs. E. S. Thurston, Professor and Mrs. S. B. Warner, and Professor Samuel Williston.
