TO CLOSE APPLICATIONS FOR AWARD NEXT MONTH

LADY HENRY'S WILL ESTABLISHED FUND FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Enrollment for the 1933 Henry Followships are open to Harvard applicants now, it was announced by President Lowell and Dean Hanford yesterday. It is proposed to offer four Henry Fellowships annually, tenable for one year and valued at 500 pounds each.

The choice of subject for study to be undertaken by the Fellow can be regarded as unrestricted, provided the scheme of work meets with the approval of the Committee of Management and of the British university to which the Fellow is assigned. The Fellowships are the most liberal aids awarded to candidates who have shown both distinction in some branch of learning and have also presented a definite plan of study or research abroad.

Seniors Shown Preference

The Charles and Julia Henry Fund was founded by the will of the late Lady Julia Henry "in the earnest hope and desire of cementing the bonds of friendship between the British Empire and the United States." This fellowship enables the American students selected to study at Oxford or Cambridge for one year. Candidates who are in their last year of undergraduates work or who have just started upon graduate work will be shown preference at the time of selection of the Fellows. The applications for the fellowship will close on January 1, 1933 for the third year that this award has been made.
