SOCCER TEAM DEFEATS AMHERST BOOTERS, 2-0

Wind Hampers Play but Crimson Shows Improvement--Jayvee and Freshman Elevens Play Today

The Harvard Varsity soccer team won its second game of the season yesterday afternoon at the expense of the Amherst booters. The score was 2 to 0, both tallies being clean, hard shots by D. C. Clos '35, right inside.

The game was hampered by a strong wind, which nullified efforts for combination plays. A decided improvement was evinced by the Harvard fullbacks and forward line with C. H. Parker ocC., left fullback, playing a particularly strong game.

The game a week from today against Penn State is expected to be the hardest contest of the year. Penn has always had one of the best soccer teams in the country, being champions last year and at one time undefeated for four years. Coach J. F. Carr is confident, however, that if the team continues its present rate of improvement, the result will be a Harvard victory. The summary of yesterday's game: HARVARD  AMHERST England, g.  g., Fort Wemple, r.b.  r.b., Eastman Parker, l.b.  l.b., Greenough Waters, r.h.  r.h., Knox
