Harvard's chess team ended the intercollegiate chess match at New York a close second, after failing to defeat Princeton in the final round of play. The Crimson players, victorious last year, held their opponents to a tie but were unable to score upon Princeton's watertight defense.
The final score was Princeton, 7 1-2; Harvard, 6; Dartmouth, 5 1-2; Yale, 5. Princeton won last in 1926, with Harvard trailing by only half a point. Since then Harvard has won four successive tournaments.
