Three very fine instruments for use in the determination of latitude and local time have just arrived at the Institute of Geographical Exploration from France, where they were manufactured by the Society d'Optique de Mecanique de Haute Precision. The instruments, called Prismatic Astrolabes have proved of great value in boundary determination and delimitation, and are capable of getting excellent results when operated by a skilled person.
A new course to be given the second half year by the Institute of Geographical Exploration has been announced. It is an advanced course in field communications and is to be known as Geography 37. The course will consist mostly of field work, dealing with the theory, practice, and present state of field communications.
