NICHOLS CHEMISTRY MEDAL GIVEN CONANT FOR RESEARCH

With the awarding of the William H. Nichols medal of the Chemical Society of America on March 11, J. B. Conant '13, Sheldon Emery Professor of Organic Chemistry, will receive his second token of recognition as "one of the most brilliant of the younger chemists which this country has produced."

The Nichols medal, established to encourage original, chemical research, is being given to Professor Conant for his work on analyzing chlorophyll. On February 5 he will receive the Chandler Medal of Columbia University, given on much the same terms. Professor Conant will receive the Nichols Medal on behalf of the New York chapter of the Society.
