D. J. Boorstin '84 was announced yesterday as the winner of the Coolidge prize for the best showing in the tryouts for the Freshman Harvard-Yale-Princeton debate. The judging was done by F. C. Packard '20, assistant professor of Public Speaking, on the basis of the speeches given in the trials held last week.
The prize consists of $50 and is given annually after the Freshman debate. Boorstin was a member of the team which went to New Haven to debate the Yale first year men.
