Alumni Day is to be held at the Harvard Dental School today for the purpose of acquainting the graduates with the present teaching methods in the school. The guests for the most part will be made up of members of the Harvard Dental Alumni Association and the Harvard Odontological Society. An elaborate program has been prepared, starting with registration of the alumni at 1 o'clock and ending with a supper at the Dental School at 6 o'clock.
In the afternoon the graduates will see demonstration of the newest dental methods as used in the school in all departments. Specimen cases such as those on which the students work, reports of recent important investigations, and regular clinics in action will be among the sights for the visitors. The several departments taking part in the exhibition are the Operative, Prosthetic, Surgical, Orthodontia, Dental Anatomy, X-ray, Photography, and Research.
Included in the afternoon program are talks illustrating the work of the students in the various fields. Also of interest to the visitors is the display of the X-ray survey which was made this year of the Harvard Freshman Class, the first of its kind held anywhere. At 5 o'clock an exhibit of the progress and development of the Research Department will be held, to be followed immediately by motion pictures taken by the school photographer, illustrating several of the most important parts of the work of the school.
After supper a meeting of the Harvard Odontological Society will take place in the Building B Amphitheater. After a short business meeting, Dr. H.A. Kent of the Dental School will read the paper, "Conductive Anesthesia Simplified."
