CRIMSON MATMEN DOWN ELI GRAPPLERS 17 TO 11

JOHNSON, KLEIN, GRAVES WERE OUTSTANDING

Sweeping the middleweight bouts, the University wrestling team defeated Yale at New Haven Saturday by the score of 17 to 11 for its second annual victory.

The meet began with a victory for Yale, when Begwood, 118-pounder, was declared winner over F. C. Evans '31 on a time advantage. In the next four bouts Arthur Klein '32, J. H. Crandon '33, P. O. Johnson '33, and O. E. Goddard '33 were victorious over their Eli rivals thus putting Harvard far in the lead. In the 165-pound competition, Yale scored when John Brodie defeated Captain W. A. Robertson '31 after a hard struggle. G. L. Graves '32 then took the 175-pound contest from Van Munson of Yale to clinch the meet for his team. Four minutes later the match ended when Rotan, Yale heavyweight, pinned his Crimson opponent, R. W. Straus '31 with a bar and chancery hold after a spectacular struggle.

175-pound class: Graves defeated Van Munson (Y), on a time advantage of 3 min., 26 sec.

Unlimited class: Rotan (Y) defeated Straus, by fall in 4 min.
