Two hundred and nineteen degrees, including two with distinction, were granted by the University in its annual mid-year award, it was announced yesterday. This total is a decrease of 19 over the number conferred in 1930, and four more than were granted in 1929.
Twenty eight bachelors of arts were created, seven bachelors of science, 58 masters of arts, 22 doctors of philosophy, two associates in arts, two doctors of sciences in engineering, 62 masters in engineering, one bachelor of science in engineering, 62 masters in education, 31 masters of business administration, one doctor of commercial science, three doctors of medicine, and two masters of science in zoology.
Edward Minot Shelton, Jr. of Hinsdale, Illinois was the only student to receive the degree of A.B., eum laude. Anthony E. McGrann of Dorchester was the other honor student, receiving the degree of M.B.A., with distinction.
