Anderson Chenault Dearing, Jr. '34, of Louisville, Kentucky, is the winner of the Edwards Whitaker Prize Scholarship for 1931, one of the most important scholastic awards made at the mid-year examinations.
The prize, which is open only to Freshmen, was established by Mrs. Samuel Craft Davis, in memory of her futher. It is awarded to the Freshman, preferably from west of the Mississippi river, who shows the most outstanding scholastic ability and intellectual promise, as indicated by distinction in studies and general achievement.
