Leopold Stokowski, conductor of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra rehearsed the Harvard Glee Club for two and one half hours yesterday afternoon in Paine Hall.
The orchestral director made a special week-end trip to Cambridge in order to work with a chorus from the Glee Club, which is preparing Stravinski's "Oedipus Rex" for two performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra in the Metropolitan Opera House, New York City, on April 21 and 22. Shortly after the finish of the practice Stokowski left for Philadelphia. He was the guest of Dr. A. T. Davison '06, director of the Glee Club, during his stay here.
