Dr. A. T. Davison '05, associate professor of Music, will lecture on the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan in Paine Hall on Wednesday evening at S. 15 o'clock. The lecture is to be given under the auspices of the Harvard Musical Club, and will be open to the public.
The program will be of additional interest to all as selected numbers will be illustrated by a special chorus composed of members of the Harvard Glee Club and the Radcliffe Choral Society. Eleven operettas will be sung in part to illustrate the points of Dr. Davison's address in order to make the lecture more clear and informative.
Chorus and solo parts have been selected from the following numbers: "Trial by Jury," "Pirate of Penzance," "Sorcerer," "Mikado," "Patience," "Pinafore," "Yeoman of the Guard," "Princess Ida," "Ruddigore," "Iolan the," and "The Gondoliers."
