At the Harvard Club tonight, a dinner will be given to celebrate the seventieth birthday of Professor Alfred North Whitehead. It will be attended by 41 guests, including members of the faculty and many distinguished visitors.
Professor Love joy of Johns Hopkins, Professor Montague of Columbia, Professor Morris Cohen of C. C. N. Y., Professor Sheldon of Yale, Professors Duchess and Blake of Brown, and Professor Richards of Cambridge University are a few of the well-known philosophers who will attend the dinner, which will be followed by speeches and a general discussion of philosophy. Most of the guests, including G. Warrington of Cincinnati and Henry Osmond Taylor, travelled a considerable distance to be present at this meeting.
Professor Whitehead was born in England and is well known in the field of mathematics as well as that of philosophy.
