A severe earthquake, lasting for over three hours, and of an origin estimated at 10,350 miles from Cambridge, was recorded yesterday morning at 1.54 o'clock at the Harvard Seismograph Station. The quake occurred about 20 minutes before the first waves reached Cambridge, having come from a location which is a little over 200 miles short of half way round the globe from here. The quake was of a kind that makes definite computations difficult to obtain.
