Admiral W. S. Sims, U. S. N. retired, will be the guest of honor at the Thursday evening dinner at John Winthrop House tonight. At 7.30 he will talk informally in the Junior Common Room of Gore Hall to members of the House.
The Admiral will discuss the freedom of the seas; the possibility of attack on each other's shores by Great Britian, Japan, and the United States; the large number of shore establishments; the organization of the Navy department and its preparation for war; politics and naval conferences; the meaning of "parlty" with Great Britian; the submarine and airplane;; and lessons of the War.
Other guests at the staff table will, be the associates and tutors of John Winthrop House and undergraduates.
