As a feature of the Germanic Museum's new policy of sponsoring lectures, concerts, and exhibits of general interest, the Seventeenth Century Ensemble will give a concert in the large Renaissance Hall on Friday, November 27, at 8 o'clock. The Ensemble included several members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and has appeared before in Cambridge, although never at the Muscum. The more concerts are planned for January 22 and February 12.
In addition to renovating to some extent the interior of the Museum, several innovations have been made this year, including the inauguration of a room devoted to modern art and loan collections. At present it contains an exhibition of contemporary German sculpture and decorative arts. It is also hoped to have a series of lectures on modern German art at some time during the spring.
