That tennis, crew and football in that order are still the most popular fall sports among the Freshman class, is indicated by the figures released yesterday by the Department of Physical Education at Wadsworth House. As the total number of men registered in all is only 906 in comparison with last year's figure of 937, the number of men signed up for each individual sport is proportionally lower, except for football, swimming, handball, baseball and managers. The figures show that 210 chose tennis, 177 chose crew, and 165 football. Swimming is next with 77 men, having jumped into fourth place at the expense of singles. Track, with 48 men displaced soccer for which only 31 signed up this year. Handball, increasing in popularity, managed to move up three places, coming in just ahead of cross country and the managers.

Fall sports open to the Freshmen with the number of men who have signed up for each, are as follows: tennis, 210; crew, 177; football, 165; swimming, 77; singles, 62, track, 48; soccer, 31; handball, 24; cross country, 23; managers, 20; fencing, 17; baseball, 16; miscellaneous, 13; hiking, 12; pole, 3; gymnasium 3; total, 906.
