Famous Historian is Spending Three Weeks in America

Leverett House will entertain a distinguished guest tonight when H. G. Wells, famous historian and scientist dines at the third House dinner at 6.30 o'clock. Mr. Wells is spending three weeks in this country to see the completion of his new book, which in being published by Nelson Doubleday and Doran, and also in order to make a survey of the unemployment in this country.

Mr. Wells' latest book, "Work, Health, and Happiness," is the third of three studies which he set himself to a dozen years ago. The first one of these books to be completed was "The Outline of History," the second, "The Outline of Science," and the third, now being printed, is an outline of economics.

The purpose of the books is to reorganize the essential knowledge of mankind, so that the individual may be able to prepare himself better for a world that has begun to present the most difficult and intricate problems.

The dinner tonight, at which President Paul Moody of Middlebury College will also be a guest, is open exclusively to members of the house, and on account of lack of space, no guests may be invited. After the dinner, it is hoped that Mr. Wells will meet the residents in the common room.
