Harvard and Yale meet again as traditional rivals this afternoon when the Crimson and Blue teams meet in the first game of the annual series at New Haven. After today's contest, the teams will entrain for Boston to play the second game at Soldiers Field tomorrow afternoon at 3.30 o'clock.
According to an agreement made earlier in the year, the coaches will not be on the bench and the responsibility of directing the team will devolve upon the respective captains.
It is expected that Batchelder and Bassett who have been on the injured list will be back in the game today. It is still a question, however, whether Bassett's injured ankle will allow him to take his accustomed place in right field. Should he not play either Lupien or Huxtable will take his place and the batting order, consequently, will remain similar to that used in the last few games.
Neither coach has announced definitely the starting batteries for today. For Harvard, Devens will probably take the mound with Batchelder catching. The Elis will start either Jennison, Rudd, or Taylor in the box with Aldrich or Maine behind the bat.
Wednesday's contest will feature the program for that day at Harvard. The game will be preceded by a march of the reunion classes.
