HARVARD AND TECH FRESHMAN EIGHTS WILL MEET TODAY

Heavies are Only Midshipmen to Enter Regatta Saturday--Tech, Penn Will Compete

With the first home regatta in two weeks scheduled for this afternoon in the Basin between Freshman crews of Harvard and M. I. T., reports from Annapolis reveal that only the heavyweight oarsmen will be sent to Cambridge for the Navy-Penn-Tech-Harvard regatta Saturday. The four colleges will compete at that time in the heavyweight event, but apparently the Jayvee, lightweight and Freshman races will be triangular affairs.

Today's Races

It today's races the Tech and Crimson 156 pound Freshman eights will meet, as will the Second boats of both first-year Casses. It is planned to row the lightweight race at 5 o'clock over the one mile course in the Basin, the Seconds' event following over the Henley distance at 5.30.

Pre-Race Dinner

An unusual sidelight on Saturday's regatta is the pre-race dinner to which President Stratton of M. I. T. has invited the oarsmen of the four colleges on Friday night, preceding the next day's events. The regular members of the four heavyweight boats and their substitutes will be present at the dinner, which is to be held at Dr. Stratton's home.
