H. W. Wesselman '31, Captain of the University Fencing team, won the Foils Tournament for the Junior Fencing Championship of New England held in Boston last evening. There were fifteen competitors representing Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Bowdoin and Harvard, and of the six qualifying for the finals, four were representatives of the University team.
Three men, Altenburg of Bowdoin, John Mackin '32 and J. D. Allen '31 tied for second, and the points scored against them were counted to determine their respective positions. By this method, the Bowdoin man took second, with Mackin in third place.
Tonight the University team will compete against practically the same group for the epee and sabre championships, the matches being conducted under the auspices of the American Fencing League of America.
