Staging a decisive spurt in the last two and a half minutes of play, Worcester Academy's basketball team defeated the Harvard Freshmen yesterday, 42 to 30, at Worcester.
Despite the final score, it was the closest game played by the Freshmen this season. Harvard had an early lead of 9 to 3, but was behind at the intermission.
Like all Harvard defeats this season, the game was lost under the baskets, where the opponents' height gave them an advantage. Captain C. H. Hageman '33 was the best all around player on the floor. Edstrom, Worcester forward starred offensively with 21 points. Score--Worcester 42, Harvard 1933 30. Goals--Edwards 5, Edstrom 9, Conothan 4, Schroeder 3, Matursevitch Kimbrough 3, Hageman 4, Fouls--Edwards, Edstrom 3, Duggan 2, Kimbrough, Huppuch. Referee--Aldrich. Time--Two 20-minute periods.
