HARVARD EXPENSES MOUNT TO OVER TWELVE MILLION

The operating expenses of Harvard University for the 12 months ending June 30, 1930, were $12,248,176.80, as appears in the report of Henry L. Shattuck, Treasurer of Harvard University, to the Board of Overseers, which was made public yesterday.

These expenses which exceeded these of the preceding 12 months by $600,000 were paid from the following sources: Income from Funds and from Gifts  $5,406,216.81 Income from Tuition Fees  3,130,617.08 Income from Dormitory Rentals  773,840.52 Income from Dining Halls and Harvard Union, to cover cost of student board  862,749.45 Income from Athletic Sports, for use in meeting athletic expenses  1,189,948.72 from Other Operating Income  884,804.22 Total  $12,248,176.80
